Blog Journal 10
If I were to become a science teacher in a lab setting, I would most likely use Excel to make it easier for my students to collect data, such as average, standard deviation, mean, mode, and more. When calculating data, it can be quite confusing to do by hand, so having a computer calculate the data is helpful and allows students to focus more of their time perfecting their work. Excel has become very useful for me in college, considering it is the first time I am using the program with a purpose. Before I left high school, the only reason I used Excel was to make a chart, but now I have learned the many functions one can perform just by studying the program. It is useful in school, careers, and life!
When reading over my classmates' blogs, I found Blog Journal #7 to be very interesting. When writing mine, I spoke on how college was my first experience using Twitter. In my classmates' blogs, many of them spoke about how they typically use Twitter on a daily basis for social purposes. These were very differing blog posts, and what made them each unique and interesting is that we are all able to see how we use technology and applications in our daily life, as well as what they mean and how they make an impact on our lives.
Next, I would like to learn more about shortcuts to websites, applications, and Microsoft Office in terms of the tricks professionals use. Although it is important to use what I have learned in a classroom/teacher setting, learning what the professionals do and how fast they do it is what I would like to become familiar with. I will achieve this by doing my research and taking technology classes that will better enhance my learning so I can take my knowledge and introduce it to students, classmates, friends, family, and more!
