Blog Journal 5

Using Diigo for the first time has allowed me to understand how saving websites and links on our internet browser is useful inside and outside the classroom. With the class, we have been able to collaborate and include specific links we find, relating to subjects that we are focusing on. By bookmarking and annotating, we are now able to save and add thoughts on the resource. Diigo has allowed our classroom to have a group discussion about our resources on the web, without meeting in person. I have enjoyed using Diigo this week and am excited to learn more about this tool.

Blogging has allowed me to keep my blogs organized and my topics up-to-date. The fact that we get to use our own website to upload our weekly blogs is what makes the experience of blogging so unique. We get to read our classmate's blogs to see the variety in our writing. I have learned how to format a website and how to get people linked to my blog. Commenting on other blogs is also useful because we gain insight from our classmates on the same topics. Blogging is what I love the most about this class!

One Web 2.0 tool I would use when teaching would be Youtube. This tool has always been useful in every grade of school. Whether it's watching a documentary, tutoring video, or for pure entertainment, Youtube is one of those tools that has it all and more. The website has become even more organized and easily readable over the last few years. The video-based platform can be used for every subject and grade in school--all the way up to college and for our kids to watch videos on one day. Youtube is a learning tool for all students and I, personally can count on youtube for learning or entertainment. This web 2.0 tool will only advance, and I cannot wait to see how it will in the coming years.
